What’s a cat cold?
The illness is caused by feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR) or by feline herpesvirus (FHV).
A cat cold is especially dangerous for kittens or adult cats with other ailments that weaken the immune system as well as for animals suffering from stress. The cold is typically triggered by stress, malnutrition, other infectious or non-infectious diseases, very young age, injury, or postoperative conditions.
